Casa Helena is well placed for seeing Tuscany and Umbria and is an excellent base for exploring Florence, Assisi, Spello, and Todi. The local train station (Camucia) has trains to: Arezzo, Orvieto, Spoleto, Florence (1 hour) and Rome (1 1/2 hours).

A spectacular 20-minute drive down the hill offers you Lake Trasimeno; the lake is wonderful for
water sports and swimming.

In the town of Cortona there are Classical, Jazz and other musical events in the summer as well as a number of pageants and festivals dating to medieval times.
